Family Fishing Fiesta

Ever wanted to learn how to fish or freshen up old skills? If so, this program is for you. Families will be introduced to fishing, aquatic education and water safety.  Activities will include knot tying, casting, fishing, and cleaning fish, as well as information on fish management, aquatic stewardship, boating and water safety, and fishing regulations. Spanish speaking families are encouraged to participate. All activities will be bilingual. There will be a limited supply of fishing poles to use and if you have one, bring it! The program is completely free and no reservations are required. You will learn other outdoor recreation opportunities that you can do while visiting Jordan Lake State Recreation area.  Food Trucks will be on hand or bring a picnic lunch to enjoy.  Sponsoring agencies: NC Wildlife Resources Commission, NC State Parks, US Fish and Wildlife Service and many more! Event will be held rain or shine.
