Free Fishing Day

Lake Crabtree and Black Creek Greenways (Trails)
Lake Crabtree County Park Tuesday, July 4th 9am-1pm Free event, adults and teenagers only. Register in advance to reserve your fishing poles! Specify 9am, 10am, 11am, or noon on your registration form. Walk-ups are welcome, but fishing poles are limited!. Mail, email (daniel.wheeler@wakegov.com), or drop off the attached form to do so. Call 919 460 3355 for more information.

The park will be open on  July 4 for all your picnicking needs.

Also, Independence Day is Free Fishing Day here in North Carolina. This is the one day of the year when anyone can fish in NC public waters without having a fishing license.

Come out to Lake Crabtree and test your hand at catch-and-release fishing. Park staff will be available to teach you the basics of casting and what types of fish are in the lake. All equipment and bait is provided by the park. Borrow one of our poles or bring your own.
