To celebrate opening week and Day of the Dead, the NCMA will host a Duke Energy–sponsored free community day featuring Duke Energy Family Day: Día de la Familia the following Saturday, November 2, with free entrance to the exhibition all day and family-friendly indoor and outdoor activities from 10 am to 2 pm. “In addition to showcasing the iconic self-portraits and paintings of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, this exhibition illuminates their artistic peers and Mexican culture,” said Museum Director Valerie Hillings. “We’re thankful to Duke Energy for supporting the November 2 community day, which extends the exhibition’s reach and allows more visitors to explore these artists’ profound legacies."
