Tree Lighting and Open House

North Carolina State Capitol Grounds
State Capitol Grounds December 12th - December 14th Free

There will be luminaries, and holiday music by the Raleigh Concert Band, plus a dance performance by Alicia’s School of the Performing Arts.

Then Governor Roy Cooper and dignitaries will make their way to the South Grounds at 6:15 p.m. to start the ceremony.

The lit tree will be visible the length of Fayetteville Street.

The Junior Women’s Club will give away cookies and hot chocolate, and Santa will make an appearance.

At 6:30 p.m., following the ceremony, the public is invited inside to see holiday decorations and natural greenery inside the building, and the Wake Med Chorus will perform.

The Holiday Open House will continue for several days, with holiday music in the rotunda, and the NC Executive Mansion will also be open for visitors.

The Capitol is at 1 E. Edenton Street, Raleigh.
The North Carolina Executive Mansion is at 200 N. Blount Street, Raleigh.

All of these are free events and no reservations are required.
