Park Description

The Museum Life and Science"s mission is to create a place of lifelong learning where young children to senior citizens embrace science as a way of knowing about themselves, their community and their world. A must-see indoor/outdoor science park, the Museum features aerospace, biomechanics, data technology, geology, physical science, small science (for young children), weather, Carolina wildlife, discovery rooms, an outdoor nature park with train ride and farm animals and Magic Wings Butterfly and Bayer Crop Science Insectarium.

Special Events are as scheduled.

MEET THE KEEPER  Daily at 2:00pm.  
Join Animal Keepers at our new Explore the Wild animal exhibits to learn more about black bears, 
red wolves and lemurs. Each day will feature a different species. Call x339 for day’s program.
TRAIN RIDES  Daily, every 30 minutes in the morning, every hour in the afternoon until 4:00pm. 
Enjoy an old-time excursion on the Ellerbee Creek Railway. Don"t forget to scream your head off in
the tunnel! 
FARMYARD UP CLOSE!  Daily at 4:30pm, except Thursday  
Help the animal keepers close the Farmyard for the evening while learning about the care and 
feeding the animals receive.
SNAKE AND ALLIGATOR FEEDINGS UP CLOSE!  Thursdays, 4:00pm  
Come to Carolina Wildlife, meet an animal keeper and learn more about reptiles.
BUTTERFLY RELEASE  Monday–Saturday, 11:00am & 3:00pm; Sunday, 3:00pm  
Join us as we release exotic butterflies in the tropical conservatory.
SPIDERS, FROGS AND OTHER FEEDING FRENZIES  Daily, 2:30pm, Insectarium  
Watch large spiders, poison dart frogs, and other predators devour a meal of their favorite prey. 
Chat with our entomologist and learn more about the realities of the food chain.
LADYBUG RELEASE  Saturday & Sunday, 2:00pm, Conservatory  
Ladybugs are used as a natural way to manage pests. Help our horticulturists release ladybugs 
in the tropical conservatory and learn about other methods of pest control.

The Museum is CLOSED on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
