Looks like all the snow and ice has past. I even have a daffodil blooming in my garden! Spring must be right around the corner.

The Fun Starts Early

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will be the featured flick this Thursday for Pizza and a Movie Night at the Halle Cultural Arts Center.

Thursday night's Science Cafe will feature Sip & Spell: Adult Science Spelling Bee. Adults are invited to come to the Museum and show off their science spelling skills.

Art in the Evening returns Friday night to the North Carolina Museum of Art with live music by DJ Forge and the the 1944 classic film, Lady in the Dark starring Ginger Rogers. You can also join them for a Friday Night Sound Bite on Style and Subject or a Contemporaries Third Friday Tour.

Third Friday is back in Durham with their popular Gallery Crawl.

The Cary Town Band presents For All the Seasons Friday evening. The free concert will take place at the Cary Arts Center.

Its Family Movie Night Friday at Hill Street Community Center. Bring the kids to enjoy a movie, popcorn and a drink.

Step into the Graham Building and Exposition Center this weekend at the NC State Fairgrounds for the Spring RV Sale and dream about some spring expeditions!

Also at the Fairgrounds, the Double L Bar Cowboy Mounted Shooters will be shooting balloons while riding horseback through different predetermined courses.

History Comes Alive

Help celebrate the opening of Historic Yates Mill Pond County Park's annual community art and photography exhibit, applaud the art and photography contest winners, and meet some of the artists during Saturday's Mill as Muse Artists Reception.

Come to Historic Hillsborough for the Revolutionary War Living History Day Saturday. Events include military exercises from patriot militia and British army re-enactors, craft activities, and a sutler of period goods.

The NC Museum of Art offers free public tours both Saturday and Sunday. Weekend Family Friendly Tours and Meet Your Museum Tours are both great ways to familiarize yourself with the museum.

Storytellers to Go will present American Fairy Tale by Judy M. Dove on Saturday at the North Carolina Museum of History.

More Indoor Fun

Sertoma Arts Center invites you to their monthly Family Nature Night this Friday as they explore the amazing world of Reptiles. They will have some live animals on hand and kids are invited to wear their PJs because the evening ends with a bedtime story.

It's a Super Fun Saturday at the Halle Cultural Arts Center Saturday. Kids are invited to come have some super fun with free arts & crafts.

The Winter Market is back to the Holly Springs Cultural Center Saturday. Click through for the list of vendors and the opportunity to order ahead. Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga"Hoole will be Saturday's featured film Saturday morning at the Holly Springs Cultural Center and WALL-E will be the featured flick for Monday Morning Movies.

Music Makers with NC Symphony will be offering demonstration and a story time at Marbles Kids Museum Saturday. Marbles also presents a free Positive Parenting Workshop Sunday afternoon aimed at families with children 0-5 years old. While you're there, drop off some books for the WAKE Up and Read Book Drive that runs though March 1st.

The Fairgrounds will host the TICA Time Cat Show both Saturday and Sunday with 14 rings.

Sunday is another Durham Community Day the Museum of Life & Science. Durham county residents with ID receive free admission to the museum throughout the year on special days.

Happenings at the Parks

Help the Harris Lake County Park staff with their Citizen Science Projects Thursday afternoon.

Come join a ranger for some Fishing in Occoneechee's Ponds Friday afternoon.

Come to Durant Nature Park Friday night for a Campfire, Story, and Marshmallow Roast. Gather "round the campfire to read a nature story perfect and enjoy making s'mores.

Harris Lake County Park will also be hosting a Winter Evening Campfire Friday evening with stories and marshmallow roasting,

Falls Lake invites you to take a Beginners Orienteering class Saturday morning. Join them to learn how to use a map and compass.

Historic Oak View County Park is partnering with Morehead Planetarium to bring you an evening filled with Stories and Stargazing Saturday after dark.

Every Sunday afternoon, West Point on the Eno offers guided hikes. This weekend, you'll Hike to the homesite of Fannie Breeze on the Fannie Breeze Homestead History Hike.

Historic Yates Mill County Park will be identifying trees by their Barks and Buds Sunday.

Take a Family Winter Walk at JC Raulston Arboretum Sunday as you explore their Winter Garden.

Harris Lake County Park is offering a special Full Moon Night Hike Monday night so you can explore the park after dark and listen for the sounds of the night on a leisurely evening hike.
