Spring is just around the corner even if it doesn't feel like it this week. The parks are starting up their spring hikes and Yates Mill has begun their Mill Tours for the season. Don't forget to Spring Forward Sunday morning.

Music, Movies & Museums

The North Carolina Museum of Art will host Take Up Space: Women's Weekend at the NCMA with three days of inclusive, imaginative, thought-provoking, and fun events in celebration of International Women's Day. Some events do have an admission fee and some do require pre-registration so click through for more information.

Come to the NC Museum of Art Saturday to take a Meet Your Museum Tour or a Weekend Family Friendly Tour. Both of these free tours are offered every weekend both Saturday and Sunday.

Historic Yates Mill Pond County Park will be offering Tours of the Old Mill on Saturday and Mill Heritage & Local History Tours on Sunday.

The North Carolina State Farmers Market will kick off spring this weekend with a Spring Craft Fair.

Music of the Carolinas will host guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and entertainer Trip Rogers Sunday afternoon at the North Carolina Museum of History.

The Monday Morning Movie at the Holly Springs Cultural Center will be Lilo & Stitch.

Destination Deep Space

Holly Springs High School will host a First North Carolina Robotics Competition both Friday and Saturday. The event is free and open to the public. Come cheer on 36 high school teams as they compete three on three for this year's space themed competition which includes placing dics on a vertical surface, inserting balls into holes and climbing onto three different level platforms.

Fun at the Fairgrounds

Thinking about summer out on the lake? The Chatlee Boat Show & Sale comes to the North Carolina State Fairgrounds all weekend with a large selection of saltwater, skiffs, ski & deck boards to choose from.

The Triangle Farms NCHJA "C" Indoors Show over at the Hunt Horse Complex Friday through Sunday will be a Hunter Jumper Horse Show.

The Carolina Coin and Stamp Show will also be at the Fairgrounds this weekend with coins, postcards, stamps and currency.

The Iranian Cultural Society of North Carolina invites you to the NC Persian Festival Tuesday evening to celebrate the Persian New Year.

Spring Comes to the Parks

Take a tour of the Night Sky Friday night at West Point on the Eno with astronomers from CHAOS, NCCU, NASA, and DPR using high powered binoculars and telescopes for high quality viewing.

Historic Oak View County Park invites you to Watching the Weather both Saturday and Sunday to learn how to make your own weather instruments at home, discover some cool local weather facts, and kids can complete a weather-related craft.

Bring the kids to Durham Central Park Saturday for Inflatable Day and enjoy fun inflatables, zorb balls, music, and food trucks while you help raise money for the Northgate Carousel.

Come do some Birding on the Haw River Saturday at Jordan Lake. All skill levels are welcome.

Learn how to Build the Best Campfire Sunday afternoon at Falls Lake Park and then test your campfire building skills at the end with a team competition to prepare, build, and light a campfire to burn a suspended string.

Look at some Bird Adaptations and then walk to see some of the different bird species that live at Prairie Ridge Ecostation Sunday afternoon.

Take a Graylyn Road History Hike Sunday afternoon at Umstead State Park. You will hike down by the spillway, go to the old quarry/dynamite shack area, continue on the Sycamore Trail to Graylyn Road and then will walk up the road visiting the family homesites and graveyards that are there.
