Labor Day Weekend is only a week away. The summer events are winding down and our fabulous fall festival season will soon be in full swing!

Kick off the Weekend!

Whiskey Runners will be playing the tunes at Friday's Summer at the Springs Outdoor Concert at the Holly Springs Cultural Center lawn.

Fridays on the Front Porch of the Carolina Inn will feature a local Triangle band and local food trucks Bo's Kitchen and Poblanos Tacos.

Iris after Dark kicks off the weekend Friday night at the North Carolina Museum of Art with special drinks, small plates and live music.

The PLAYlist Concert Series returns to Durham Central Park Friday night with &More with Nitro.

Festivals and More Movies and Music

The Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival is celebrating with two days again this year! Join them at Cary's Town Hall Campus Saturday and Sunday for the annual spectacular featuring arts & crafts, kids activities, live entertainment and festival food.

The Raleigh-Durham AfroCaribbean-Association presents the 8th Annual CaribMask Carnival Parade and Festival in Downtown Raleigh Saturday.

Bentonville Battlefield State Historic Site invites you to step back in time Saturday during their living history event. There will be Period-costumed living historians demonstrating camp life as well as musket and artillery demonstrations.

Packapalooza is an all-day street festival Saturday capping off Wolfpack Welcome Week at the start of the NC State academic year.

The Duke Homestead Historic Site will host their annual Harvest and Hornworm Festival Saturday where you can enjoy live music, local arts and crafts vendors, hands on history, and the last tobacco auction in Durham!

Mary Poppins Returns will be the featured flick at the Apex Nature Park Saturday evening.

Celebrate the history of Berry O'Kelly, Harveleigh White, Berry O'Kelly School Alumni and the Method Community at the Historic Method Day Celebration Saturday.

The Lego Movie will be the featured flick Monday morning at the Holly Springs Cultural Center.

More Weekend Fun at the Parks

Historic Yates Mill Pond County Park will be offering Saturday at the Old Mill Tours and Mill Heritage & Local History Tours on Sunday.

Join them at Prairie Ridge Ecostation Saturday afternoon for a Track Trail Walk in celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Kids in Parks Track Trails program! Join a naturalist on this guided walk to learn about the Track Trails program as you seek out plants and animals along the trail.

Raven Rock State Park will also be celebrating National Track Trails Day with a TRACK Trail Hike along the American Beech TRACK Trail.

Come and learn about Occoneechee Mountain's geologic wonders as you explore the Pyrophyllite Quarry with a real geologist Saturday morning.

Join them out a Falls Lake Saturday for a guided Snake and Wildlife Hike. Come back Sunday to take Trash to Treasure.

Going, going, and soon to be gone at Jordan Lake Saturday will be both a slide show/talk and a short walk to identify summer birds that will soon be migrating.

No matter what your birding level, bring your binoculars and join a Naturalist Sunday on a 2-mile leisurely walk to see what Birds you can find at the Eno River State Park.

Geocaching is a treasure hunt where participants use GPS coordinates to track down hidden "caches." Head on over to Harris Lake Sunday afternoon to learn how to use traditional GPS units and the geocaching app (by Groundspeak) and then hike to find real geocaches hidden in the park!

Bring the family to join a local naturalist Sunday at Crowder Park to explore the life under the leaves and search for Backyard Beetles.

The North Carolina RV Dealers Association Fall RV Show & Sale will give you the opportunity to check out a wide variety of RVs for your fall adventures. This event does have an admission fee, but you can get coupons at their website.
