This weekend's events are all about Halloween and Fall! One more great weekend where there is something fun to do for just about every age and interest. The State Fair kicks off next Thursday and runs through Sunday, October 27th. Click through for all the information you need including the five special days.

Getting in the Halloween Spirit

Ride the train, take home a pumpkin and enjoy crafts and games as the Pumpkin Patch Express travels through the Museum of Life and Science weekends through October. There is an additional fee and reservations are recommended.

Go on a night hike Friday after dark at Crowder County Park and look for Bats, then play a fun batty game.

Experience the sights and sounds of sunset and beyond as you learn more about the Lake Crabtree's Nocturnal Animals and test your night vision Saturday.

During a full moon in October, the mystical powers of the moon are revealed in many ways, so be on the lookout for live scarecrows, werewolves and more! Take a wagon ride, explore full moon folklore, stories and creepy critters galore at Sunday's Haunting at Harris.

Fall Festivals & Fun

The Annual Cary Diwali Celebration returns to Regency Park Saturday. Enjoy Indian music, art, cultural dance, food, music, and theater, along with a bazaar of ethnic Indian handicrafts. The evening will even end with a fireworks show!

Worthdale Community Center is hosting its annual Fall Festival Thursday. Enjoy an evening of carnival themed fun including music, face painting, arts & crafts, refreshments and carnival games.

Come discover the diverse cultures of Durham's vibrant global community as they explore Tanzania, England, Greece, Russia, Japan, China, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Romania during Saturday's Festival of Nations.

Festifall is back Saturday to Downtown Chapel Hill with a diverse array of arts experiences.

The Raleigh Roots History Festival comes to Moore Square Park featuring living history that includes a loom, a blacksmith, cooking demonstrations and a revolutionary war encampment. In addition, there will be a kid's zone, old-fashioned games, free carriage rides and vendors.

Outside the Triangle, New Bern and Tryon Place Historic Site will host Mumfest 2019, a combination of family fun, entertainment, attractions, exhibitors and great food in the beautifully restored setting of historic downtown New Bern and its waterfront. The garden admission at Tryon Palace is free, but interior tours will still require the purchase of a ticket.

Art, Music & Movies

Ken Burns' Country Music After Party & Music in the Round comes to the North Carolina Museum of History Thursday night. Click through for the schedule including film clips, performances and conversations.

The North Tower is scheduled take the stage for Thursday's Follow Me 2 Fuquay-Varina Concert.

Big Fat Gap will take the stage at the Carolina Inn Friday night along with some local food trucks for the final Friday on the Front Porch.

The second Friday of the month brings gallery walks, live music, extended hours and special events to the downtowns of Wake Forest and Carborro/Chapel Hill.

Start your weekend at the North Carolina Museum of Art Friday night for Iris After Dark.

The North Carolina Museum of History will highlight quilting Saturday. Join them to see artist at work with the Capital Quilters Guild and then try your hand at a Make it Take it drop in program where you can make your own quilt ornament.

Come back to the North Carolina Museum of History Sunday for a Music of the Carolinas concert by Mytreyi Shastry Aravind who will perform a South Indian classical vocal music concert.

Monday morning the movie Despicable Me will be shown at the Holly Springs Cultural Center.

Enjoy Fall at the Parks

Historic Yates Mill Pond County Park will be running Saturday and Sunday tours of the fully restored Mill. As a special treat this Saturday, you can take a Tip Top to Bottom Mill Tour and explore all 4 floors of the mill.

Come be a part of Jordan Lake's quarterly Eagle Count with New Hope Audubon Society Sunday morning.

Durham's tobacco heritage is explored through the stories and experiences of Durham residents on the second Saturday of every month on a Tobacco Heritage Walking Tour.

This weekend's Raleigh Pop up Dog Park will be at the Corner of Cabarrus Street and Chavis Way.

Paddle Lake Crabtree by moonlight and enjoy views of the full moon from the lake after dark Sunday.
