Looks like its going to be warm again this weekend. Luckily, we have some wonderful museums if you want to get out of the house, but stay out of the heat. Plenty of evening hikes, movies and concerts let you get out and enjoy the fresh air once the sun goes down.

The fun starts Thursday afternoon at William B. Umstead State Park. Join a Park Ranger for a presentation all about North Carolina's awesome Birds of Prey. Come back Friday afternoon to learn some Basic Land Navigation like how to read a map and use a compass.
Discover what diffferent types of Dragonflies can be found at Occoneechee Mountain on an easy hike around the ponds.
Ruby Throated Hummingbirds are a summer staple here in the Triangle. Join a park naturalist along the American Tobacco Trail to learn how to attract these tiny, powerful flyers to your backyard and how to make a hummingbird feeder out of recycled materials!
Explore both the history of the mill and its owners as well as the first floor of the fully restored mill on a Heritage Tour at Historic Yates Mill Pond County Park.

Eno River State Park also invites you to enjoy the cooler evening temperatures as you look for Creatures of the Night Saturday Night. Come back Sunday evening to learn some Beaver Basics.
Tuesday morning, you are invited to take a Walk Through the Seasons at Prairie Ridge Ecostation. The leisurely 1-mile walk will allow you to explore the season in the prairie, pond and lowland arboretum.
