Here comes another incredible weekend full of fun activities to do throughout the Triangle. With close to 60 events listed this weekend, there is definitely something for everyone. We will hit the highlights here, but check out ParkGeek.com for all the events or LIKE ParkGeek on Facebook so you can get daily ideas and updates.

NC State University's Farm Animal Days runs through Friday at the NC State University's Beef Educational Unit. Kids will get to see and touch farm animals and learn about agriculture.

The Follow Me 2 Fuquay-Varina Concert Series kicks off Thursday evening with a concert by Liquid Pleasure along with local craft breweries, vineyards and eateries at the concert site.

Thursday's Science Cafe will Celebrate Appollo at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences and explore the legacy.

Pizza and a Movie Night Thursday at the Halle Cultural Arts Center will feature Spiderman: Into the Spider Verse.

Friday Happenings

Last Fridays offer extended hours and special gallery happening around the Triangle.

Last Fridays in Chapel Hill and Hillsborough features a free concert on the Historic Orange County Courthouse lawn and downtown artwalks.

Its Finally Friday in Downtown Apex. On the last Friday of each month from April to September, come downtown to enjoy entertainment and food to Salem Street.

Triangle arts and culture are highlighted with extended hours at downtown art galleries, restaurants, and coffee houses showcasing visual arts, and music during the Final Friday Cary Art Loop.

Final Friday at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences will feature the movie Big Trouble in Little China along with movie-themed science stations and a discussion separating the facts from the fiction following the screening.

Using letters, diaries and patient records, the City of Raleigh (COR) Museum Director will bring to life those who found the Civil War's carnage a Burden Too Great to Bear Friday night at Dorothea Dix Park.

Iris after Dark returns to the North Carolina Museum of Art with music, small plates and special drinks. Stay late for the 1965 film Shakespeare Wallah.

As a special treat at the North Carolina Museum of Art Friday night, teens are invited to ArtScene 2019: Sculpting Identity, an evening of play, fashion, and art.

Festivals and Special Events at Triangle Parks

Spring Daze Arts and Crafts Festival celebrates its 26th year Saturday at Bond Park. The festival boasts over 170 North Carolina artists, entertainment on four stages, delicious festival food and Cary's annual Earth Day Celebration.

HerbFest continues for a second weekend in Wake Forest. Along with a wide variety of herbs, vegetables and flowers for sale to jump start your gardens, there will be lots of kids activities, live music and a variety of entertainment. Click through for the schedule of events.

Come to Bennett Place Historic Site both Saturday and Sunday to commemorate the 154th Anniversary of the Civil War Surrender. This year"s event will showcase the role of the US Colored Troops. There will be special guided tours of the home, lectures by noted historians, as well as both soldiers and civilians on site to discuss how the end of the civil war impacted them.

Downtown Holly Springs will be celebrating SpringFest Saturday with vendor tents, food trucks and a beer garden.

Ready to get your garden's going? Mordecai Historic Park hosts their Annual Plant Sale Saturday morning.

Letterland Adventure Day comes to Pullen Park Saturday. The annual event brings letters to life by turning them into colorful characters, each with their own personality and stories that go along with their sounds. Kids will meet Annie Apple, Bouncy Ben and Clever Cat; ride on Clever Cat's carousel and drive in one of Bouncy Ben's boats; travel with Letterlanders on Talking Tess's train, have their face painted with Impy Ink and make noise with Noisy Nick. Children can also play a game of Munching Mike's Bean Bag Toss, make Kicking King or Quarrelsome Queen crowns, join the Letterland parade, and enjoy school group performances on the large stage. Pullen Place Café will offer Munching Mike's Menu for delicious food and options.

The 11th Annual Art in the Heart of Hillsborough Art Fair is Saturday featuring dozens of artist booths, music, food, and beverages.

The Museum of Life & Science is hosting a Party for the Planet Saturday with a day of environmentally friendly festivities including an info fair, backyard conservation in The Lab, keeper talks, a puppet petting zoo, and a parade with the Paperhand Puppet Intervention.

Enjoy Sunday at Durham Central Park with an eclectic mix of music, food, and hands-on environmental education activities during the Earth Day Festival.

Sunday kicks off the annual Six Sundays in Spring Concerts at Carroll Joyner Park. Bring a picnic or buy food there while you enjoy local music by Buckshot Betty.

The UNC Chapel Hill Campus hosts the Near and Far Festival Sunday with music, dance, and other cultural arts performances along with international food offerings.

Enjoy food trucks, beer, games, and many dog-related vendors Sunday afternoon during Pop-Pupalooza at Dorothea Dix Park.

Enjoy local jazz music against the picturesque backdrop of Raleigh's skyline. The Spring Jazz Brunch at Dorothea Dix Park, Sunday morning, will feature music from Peter Lamb and The Wolves complemented by local food truck fare and adult brunch beverages.

The Monday Morning Movie at the Holly Springs Cultural Center will feature the film Chicken Run.

Fun at the Parks

The annual Songbird Celebration returns to Blue Jay Point County Park Saturday. Enjoy bird-related activities throughout the park, including games and crafts, preschool story times, bird hikes for adults and kids, learning stations and more.

Historic Yates Mill County Park invites you take an Old Mill Tour and a chance to Paddle the Pond Saturday. They will offer Mill Heritage & Local History Tours on Sunday.

Bring the family to Durant Nature Park Saturday evening for a Campfire & Marshmallow Roast.

Learn about Springtime chores on the farm by going on a guided tour with tactile sensory activities at each stop, and then plant your own springtime seed to take home Saturday at Historic Oak View Park.

Rangers will review Beach and Boat Water Safety at Falls Lake Saturday afternoon or you can celebrate Earth Day by joining in the social media craze #trashtag! Do it for the 'gram and for a good reason. Join a Park Ranger to talk about ways to keep the environment clean then get out there and get those "likes".

Saturday is also Keep Carrboro Beautiful Volunteer Day. Bring the family out to help clean-up the Town of Carrboro and prevent trash from entering our local streams.

In commemoration or Earth Day, Apex Day 2019 offers four activities and four ways to get back. Join them to paint a playground, decorate or assembling comfort kit boxes or restocking the shelves at the Western Wake Crisis Ministry.

Learn about the history of Kites and then make one of your own Saturday at Leigh Farm Park.

This Sunday's Spring Hike at West Point on the Eno will explore the Poet's Walk, a one-mile trail that meanders through the woodlands and pastures surrounding Ayr Mount historic house sweeping alongside the banks of the Eno River, creating serene riverside lookouts, and featuring views of the Kirkland family cemetery, the old tavern foundation, and Hillsborough's Old Indian Trading Path.

Jordan Lake celebrates the Year of the Snake Sunday with a ranger led snake program.

Calling all superheroes for Superhero Training Day Sunday at Lake Lynn Community Center. Come in costume or make one there. Kids will learn new skills, train to defeat the villains and test ourselves on the obstacle course.
